How to PROPERLY care for your UGGS

I got my Uggs as a present a couple Christmases ago. I LOVE them. I didn't put the stain resistant on them, like I should have though. So now I have some water stains from wearing them...ALL the time!

This video from  on YouTube.com will help you take care of your Uggs and keep them clean to ensure they look their best. This video is amazing because she goes through the process step by step!

Hopefully this helps some of you!

Too Early?

This time of the year always has me thinking about Christmas and decorating for the holidays. I started early for Halloween, decorating the last week of September. I knew it was early ... but I couldn't help myself! Now its half way through November and I sheepishly got out my Christmas decorations last night. I put up some tinsel, my favorite vase, and put a Christmas scarf on my doggie, Tootsie. (I didn't name him)

I didn't go to any extremes: I didn't get out the outside lights to put on display yet and my fall wreath is still hanging on the front porch so my neighbors don't know what I'm doing! Proof right here!

I should be allowed to start putting up my Christmas decorations when the stores do. All the major retail stores have Christmas decorations already completely up.
Which has me thinking....

When is the fashionable time to decorate for Christmas?

When I was a child, my mom always said after Thanksgiving is the safe zone. We used to make it a tradition to set the Christmas tree up the night after Thanksgiving. I still try to hold true to this tradition. I decided not to bring in the Christmas tree last night and wait until after Thanksgiving. That poses a problem though because of Black Friday.

Black Friday has become the NEW tradition instead of Thanksgiving. Retail stores open earlier and earlier each year. Once again, when I was a child going at 4AM for Black Friday shopping seemed taboo. Now we start shopping for Black Friday on Thanksgiving Thursday! A few stores have leaked when they plan to open this year;
Sears and Wal-Mart - 8PM ON THANKSGIVING
Toys R Us - 8 PM also!
Best Buy - 12AM

Getting back to my original point. When is the time to decorate for holidays? Is it taboo to decorate too early or is it taboo to shop to early for Black Friday?
When do you decorate for Christmas and other holidays???

Winter Nail Color Trends

Has anyone seen all of the Christmas decorations up yet?
Thats right, it's that time of the year again for shopping and holidays! SO what colors are going to be right for your nails this season?

DEEP RED!
Red is always a good winter color, but there is lots to go around! My personal pick is Essie's Leading Lady color. Its perfect for the holidays because of the sparkle in it!
You should be able to find this almost anywhere from Nordstrom to your local Target!

MINT!
I love mint color on everything, but especially nails. They will look amazing for winter and be pale enough to be considered classy.
                Perfect color by OPI

Dark silver or GRAY? Yes! I dare to say it is the NEW nude!

This is a straight-up classy color that works with everything!
You can find the color that works for you in any brand, but I do like Essie and OPI!

Even Michelle Obama rocked gray nail polish a few months back! This first lady has impeccable taste!

LOGO WAR

In honor of election day, I have decided to compare the logos of both major candidates!

*This blog post is just comparing the logos of the candidates and does not give an opinion on the actual issues.

I will start with our presidents' logo

This was a fresh take on the same logo from 2008. The "O" stands right out with red, white and blue. The logo was designed by Sender LLC, based out of Chicago, around 2006. The logo was suppose to look like a rising sun to give the idea of "hope" through a symbol. This logo is very strong and will hold true.

Romney/Ryan

This was a very recognizable logo over the past year. The "triple R" worked well to identify, however I always feel like I am looking at a Crest logo. I found a picture of the man, Eric Hartsburg, who was paid $15,000 to tattoo the logo on his face. How does this happen? He sold a portion of his face for advertising space on eBay. The good thing was he was a registered Republican, so he didn't have a problem doing it!

I have bags...under my eyes. I look like a wreck! What do I do?

I hope that everyone had a good weekend and got plenty of rest! For those of you who didn't or have a long night ahead of you, these tips are for you.

How to ... lessen the dark circles under your eyes!

Brrrrr!
*Cold? Yes! That can be the answer, which is why skin looks so great during the winter.
** Take a couple of ice cubes out of your freezer and put them in a towel and throw them over your eyes for about 15 minutes. This is also the reason that people grab frozen peas to place on the face after a fight, it eases the bruising.

Veggies???
Does this old trick really work? Surprisingly it can!
**
Slice a cucumber thin and lie down. Place each piece of cucumber over your eyes and leave it there for about 15 minutes or so.

Tea time....do I get crumpets? (the answer is no.)
**After you have your morning tea, leave the bags out to cool down. You can put them in the refrigerator or freezer if you must to make the process go faster.
**Take the bag and put them over your eyes. Make sure you get all of the liquid out first or you may need to spend time rinsing your eyes instead of getting rid of the dark circles.

Try one out and let me know what you think! Did it work for you?

Still Don't Know What to Be for Halloween? TOP 5 COSTUMES!

One of the hardest decisions made all year: WHAT WILL I BE FOR HALLOWEEN? I have been thinking all night of good Halloween costumes and  have come up with my top 5 picks for the best Halloween costumes of 2012.

1. Walking Dead
- Zombie or Character! Season 3 just came out on TV a few weeks ago. Not only is it one of my favorite shows on right now but it would be an extremely easy costume. Just throw some everyday clothes on and add a bunch of make-up.

2. Honey Boo Boo
-This would be a hilarious costume. 7 year old patent girl. Just get a blond wig, make-up and a fluffy dress. Sure to be a party favorite.

3. PREGO SNOOKI
- Just a couple years ago you could go as Jersey Shore. Now you can go as pregnant Snooki! Great way to be "sexy" and funny at the same time!

4. Gangnam Style
-You could go solo as Psy or create a the perfect costume for a group. It is sure to get a lot of looks but be careful.... there may be tons of others wearing the same thing!

5. Binders Full of Women
- No matter what political side you are on or who you will vote for, binders full of women will be a sure hit. A fantastic girls group costume. Also, very inexpensive!

If one of these costumes work for you be sure to post a picture so we can see how it turned out! Happy Halloween!

The fashionable way to SAVE $$$ on Halloween costumes

October 31st. The day we all looked forward to. As kids we were excited to collect as much free candy as humanly possible and have Halloween parties at school. As an adult I have to be more careful with my costume to ensure that no one else will have the same one. As a college student I have to guarantee that I have a different costume for each outing and have to be cost effective. There is nothing more fashionable than saving money on an outfit you will only wear once!

3 Great ways to save money on costumes!

1. Wait until last minute if you can.
- We all know that the costume stores have the exact same outfits that they did last year and the year before and the one before that, so get one on clearance! If you don't like what the costume actually entails than change it to something else! Last year I wanted to go as Robin (with Batman) but refused to pay $60 just for the dress! Instead I got a saloon girl dress on clearance for $5 and bought a great pirate hat for $20 to become a pirate instead. I used gold earrings, make-up and shoes that I already had and created a great costume for less.

2. Go with a group!
-This may sound expensive because you're thinking that you all have to be identical, but not necessarily! The year before last, I went as a skittle with a group. All I needed was a shirt, an "S", skittles and a headband. (I also threw in a purple wig, obviously I was the purple skittle!) We glued skittles onto headbands and wore them in our hair and put a "S" on our shirts.

3. DIY!
-This ties in with number 1 and 2, but most people don't think about it! Do it Yourself! Nothing is easier and can be cost effective by putting your own costume together! You can be a vampire (just get some teeth and blood), mummy, or my favorite a zombie. I would think Zombie will be very popular this year with the third season of the walking dead coming out!

Hopefully these work for you! Let me know if you have any other ideas on how to make costume finding cheaper!
