The Dos & Don'ts of Fall Fashion Trends and How to get them for LESS!

Hey All!

I am experiencing some chilly weather today, which I love! It makes me want to put on my skinny jeans and boots! I am finally done (for now) looking at all that the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week had to offer and have moved to the current fall fashions. I found an amazing article from Glamour Fashion about the Dos & Don'ts of Fall 2012. Below are my personal favorites with some examples on how to get the look...for less than New York!
Dos;
* Cozy Knits - Lots of Sweaters- this is a really fun cozy sweater that I found at Lyla's Boutique in Cedar Falls-only $49!
This is a navy blue pea coat from Old Navy at only $55!
*Navy Blue Pea Coat (always a must)

*Wine colors

Don'ts;
*Wait for spring and summer for all of your BRIGHT clothing
Both of these items are also for Lyla's Boutique! The teal jeans are only $39! Amazing deal compared to many other brand names!
*underestimate the power of a pointy heel ----> NOT with wide legs
   - As much as I love Manola Blahnik masterpieces, they are a bit on the pricy side ($895). BUT
check out this grogeous pair. --->
These would look amazing with cropped jeans or a great dark skinny jean to go out. I would try to find a cheaper ticketed pair that looks like this one from Von Maur!
*Play it safe with your purse - Use all kinds of colors and patterns!

So basically they are all do's for fall, so make sure to enjoy all the fall fashions and follow this blog to get more ideas on how to get the fall fashions for less!

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week

Right now I am wishing I were wearing something trendy from Michael Kors or Vera Wang. I can not get over it. I have been obsessed with the new styles on the runway all week, which only means one thing. It is the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York. September 6th through the 13th for the Spring 2013 Collections. Only a couple more days to watch and relish in the idea of big city fashion.

However, I live in a small town in Iowa. This makes many fashions hard to come by and if I can get my hands on it...I can't afford it. #college life

Through watching the fashion week via Internet, I found my favorite new fashion trends that should spread down to Iowa hopefully soon after Spring 2013.

1. Pastel Colors- Lots of pinks and purples! Say good-bye to all the mint colors! Zoi Toi collection (spring 2013) --->

2. Different Sleeves, Lots of Angular sleeves going on. I'm excited for these because they look fantastic.

3. More flowered print and busy print of any type. There was a lot of animal print (especially on shoes!) and garden dresses going on.

Something I don't personally like (because it doesn't fit my body) but saw a lot of was ....Drumroll please... Midriffs. Midriffs with shorts, swim suits, pants...you name it, you got it.

My plans to get some of these fashions on a budget? I will check out T.J. Max, Forever 21 and a bunch of "Main Street" shops. My favorite places to find these styles (even if they are not name brand) would be local shops that have clothes that the mall stores don't have. I will be going around to a few of my favorites in the next couple weeks to see what their plans for the Spring 2013 trends will be and what they currently have in their stores.

Be sure to check it out and let me know what you think on the styles. Do you have anywhere you go to get fashionable clothes for less? Please SHARE :)
